Why do you need an ELD?

On December 18, 2017, law was enacted requiring that all fleets using paper logs convert to an approved electronic logging device, like Stoneridge the EZ-ELD.

All drivers who were required to keep a Record of Duty Status (RODS) MUST now use an ELD to show compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) rules.

The Stoneridge EZ-ELD synchronizes with a vehicle’s engine to capture power status, motion status, miles driven and engine hours. This means it can keep a comprehensive record of driving time, supporting compliance with HOS laws.

The full legislation is here: Electronic Logging Devices and Hours of Service Support Documents Final Rule.
